Sculpture
On this page you will find works created by Laura Rubio over the past several years
to the present day. Some of these works, sculptures and paintings began life as thoughts, ideas
or desires and have a history. Only much later were they then brought into this physical world.
Born out of the minds eye and shaped through the language of the hands.

Sculpture represents one of the highest and earliest forms of art, coming from the primeval
beginings of civilised man. The earliest surviving examples of prehistoric art are indeed sculptures,
and of these a large portion treat the subject of the female form. Sensual by nature the female form
has been the subject of sculptors, artists and artisans for millenia. Representing the creative force
personified, the female form in sculpture holds a special place in the world of art and of collectors.
Sometimes it is sensual, sometimes nurturing, other times it is erotic stirring the passions.

Working in fine art contemporary figurative sculpture, utilizing expressionism and realism,
Laura Rubio (Azul) creates her sculptures mainly in bronze using the 'Lost Wax Casting' technique to
give her works a brilliant and lasting quality.
